Labour Candidate for Davyhulme East, Jill Axford

Jill, 63, has lived in Trafford since 2014.

Jill lives with her two dogs, and is enjoying the too brief return home of her two grown up children from university.

Qualifications: BA French and German, PGCE secondary French, MA Teaching English for Academic Purposes.

Jill has worked as a civil servant, qualified psychiatric nurse, support worker, teaching assistant, secondary school teacher, teacher of English to international students up to higher education level, and currently works as a welfare benefits adviser, specialising in Universal Credit.

She joined the Labour Party in 2016 and has held positions at branch and constituency level since joining.

She was selected as a Labour Party candidate for Hale Central in 2018 and for St Mary’s in 2019 and is currently the Labour Party candidate for Davyhulme East.

Jill’s key priorities are environmental and social justice, working towards a community in which tackling the issues arising from climate change are matched with improving our health, well being and our quality of life.
